Egregore, Attention & Identity

Are you a main character, a side character, or food for the story?

Scroll slowly

1. Where is your attention right now?

Take 20 seconds. Notice what is loud in your mind: news, work, family, fear, hope, scrolling, arguments.

Presence: 5 / 10

Einstein: “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it.”
This lesson is about explaining your own life simply enough that you can actually live it.

2. Main character, side character, or both?

Being a main character is about agency: choosing your story, your attention, and your consent.
Being a side character is about love: serving someone else’s story on purpose.

Mature main character: intentional, responsible
Mature side character: loving, grounded
Immature main character: reactive, tribal
Immature side character: passive, obedient

Operator Log: “I am intentionally the side character to my children's development, but I refuse to be the main character in my own. (I die daily.)”

To "die daily" is the ultimate execution of ego death. It is the conscious, continuous practice of shedding the stories the "Self" desperately wants to claim.

By refusing the Main Character narrative, you starve the egregore. It cannot feed on an identity that is fluid, grounded in service, and fundamentally unattached to its own importance.

This is not weakness. This is maturity—holding both roles with dignity.

4. The Identity Pipeline

This is the core chain of the class. Identity is the bridge between thought and feeling. Read it slowly and see where you recognize yourself.

1
Thought“They are dangerous / less than us / not like us.”
2
FeelingFear, anger, disgust, superiority.
3
Identity (The Bridge)“I am on the good team. I am righteous. I am loyal.”
4
Consent“I support this war / policy / leader. I stay silent. I vote yes.”
5
Egregore ExtractionThe war machine, the nationalist myth, the corporate empire.

5. Identity Sandbox

Whatever you say “I am” to, you give power to. Let's trace it back.

Your words here are for you. This is where you stop being automatic.

6. Apathy or All?

There is one choice and two options. Apathy implies nothing really matters (side character by default). All implies everything matters (your attention is sacred).

A note to yourself: you can be a main character in the moral sense, and a side character in the loving sense, at the same time.
